Thessaloniki-based jewelry and accessory designer Irini Arampatzidou welcomes us to her busy atelier and introduces her impressive hand-made collections. Her creations are works from the heart, which draw heavily on the Greek embroidery tradition of the 18th and 19th century. We are in love with the roughened elegance expressed in the marriage of both bohemian and vintage qualities.
How did the idea begin?
The whole idea stemmed from my love for jewelry making from fabrics and I wanted to combine it with my love for history, especially the period of the Greek Revolution. My brand is named after Laskarina, a known hero and lady, who possessed both courage and beauty.
What is most special about your creations?
The rich hand-made tassels I use, adorned with semi-precious stones make my jewels innovative and unique. I experiment with luxurious fabrics, silk threads, silver and gold elements, semi-precious stones and pearls.
Some practical information about where we can find them and their price range?
You can find my jewels and accessories in more than 45 collaborating stores in Greece, Europe, the USA and Mexico. Their prices are between 40-150 euros. For orders and additional information, you can contact us via our Facebook and Instagram pages.
Will you share with us your thoughts for the future?
I would like to see my collection present in more markets abroad. My next goal is to participate in expositions abroad so that more people can get to know my brand. It will take work and dedication, but I am up for the challenge to take it all a step forward. Mostly, I intend to enjoy the process and walk new paths of inspiration.
